Home: Welcome

"The sky has never been the limit. We are our own limits. It's then about breaking our own personal limits and outgrowing ourselves to live our best lives."

EXPLORE. GROW. THRIVE.

I am an English-speaking psychotherapist in Jerusalem, Israel specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

I strongly believe that your level of comfort with the therapist you choose is critical to the ultimate success of your therapy process. My goal is to create a warm, safe, and effective environment in which a true partnership is built. I know that every person has the power inside to effect positive change and that psychotherapy is a special collaboration between the client/s and therapist.

Working together will build a comfortable yet challenging process that supports you in breaking through the most challenging barriers. Ultimately you are provided with the ability to have a more authentic and meaningful life and relationships.

MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

There is an old adage that “if the only thing you have in your toolbox is a hammer everything begins to look like a nail.” As such I am trained in a variety of modalities and have worked hard to develop and expand my toolbox.

I feel it’s imperative for each client to receive an individualized and client-oriented treatment plan. I want my clients to know and experience that they do not just “fit into a box".

I utilize an integrated approach, which means we will work together to identify the true source of a problem and address it with a variety of approaches. I enjoy establishing close therapeutic relationships that leverage deep trust to help create forward movement. I have been described by my peers as a skilled therapist who is insightful and compassionate - yet not afraid to engage and challenge clients.

I approach clients from a family-systems perspective and my main modalities include: CBT, EFT, EMDR, Gestalt, and behavioral work combined with psycho-dynamic therapy. I also have decades of experience in working with addictions of all types. My goal first and foremost is to assist individuals in ultimately living more fulfilling lives by way of self-empowerment and personal insight. As such, I will also use psycho-education and provide educational reading and videos to enhance and sustain the therapeutic process throughout his work.

ABOUT ME

A Professional Therapist Here to Guide You

Vintage Compass

My choice to become a therapist expresses my passion for personal growth throughout life’s journey and my desire to contribute the experience and wisdom I have gained to others. I find great meaning and purpose in helping my clients gain insight and emotional intelligence, to assist each person in developing a sense of wholeness that allows him or her the choice to live more fulfilling and passionate lives.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business and Accounting from the University of Hartford, and after a successful business career I earned a Master of Clinical Sociology from University Of North Texas. I completed a two-year post-graduate training program at The Family Institute of Neve Yerushalayim where I treated a wide range of client issues. I followed that with additional two-year internship at the Family Institute with a specialization in couple’s therapy. I have also received graduate training in (CBT) Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, (EFT) Emotionally Focused Therapy as well as in (EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.

Utilizing over twenty-five years of experience supporting individuals through struggles with addiction, relationships, and lifestyle changes, I serve as a resource and advisor to community lay and religious leaders and mental health institutions in the United States and Israel.

I have lectured on addictions at the Yanar Institute and at the Neve Family Institute’s Continuing Education Program on "Integrating Psycho-therapy and the 12 Step Program", and for Yeshiva University’s Gruss Smicha Program on working with couples. I currently lecture at Ner L’Elef Center for Jewish Leadership Training and Community Outreach on working with couples and for Path which is a post Yeshiva program that gives certifications in marriage and family counseling and addiction counseling. My articles on stress in relationships have been published in the Jerusalem Post and my columns on managing grief and loss have been featured by the Orthodox Union.

I launched Jersualem’s therapy group on “Coping with the Loss of Loved One” at the AACI (Association of Americans & Canadians in Israel) and am in the process of starting a group for “Men with Compulsive Technology Use” which will meet in Jerusalem as well.
